11111

This will be the last time I see the same number for 11,111 more miles so I thought it was a good enough reason to take a picture of this. I was worried that I wouldn't get this picture because I forgot to bring my camera with last night when I went babysitting. I was half way there and the odometer was reading 11100 miles. I thought that I would miss this mile marker but got it! Enjoy!!!

Have a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve and a wonderful start to 2007. Can you believe it! I know I can't!

11000

Well almost 3 months after hitting the infamous 10,000 mile mark, I hit the 11,000 mile mark. I was on my way to Cost Plus to get more wine because according to my mother, I have turned into a wino! I drank pretty much a whole bottle of this stuff on Christmas Eve. I just have to restore my wine selection! So here are the pictures from last night! These pictures were taken from my new camera also. All just so exciting!!! Have a wonderful New Years everyone.

Proud Moment!!!

Today was the day and I did it! I went an entire month without getting gas and I even drove on Friday night to Evanston to see the guys! I was totally shocked. Another milestone, I actually saw the gas light go on today. I have had the car for over 14 months and I have never seen the light go on. I always get too nervous. Here are the pictures to prove the gas light. I really can't prove the month without gas unless you trust the credit card bill but I put 11.539 Gallons into my car. It cost me a whole $26.75.

Gas

So it has almost been a whole month since my last gas fill-up. If I get to mom's birthday (November 6th) without filling up on gas, I went one whole month without filling up. I am at a little under a half tank. Will I make it!??! I am sure I will. I love not having to spend money on gas, but then again, it makes me look even more like a loser because it seems like I have no life but I have actually been quite busy. I am just not driving a lot! I'll keep you updated on the gas! :)

Check up

So the civic had a check up today. It went it for the 10,000 mile oil change but then they told me that they do service on it also, so she got her tire rotated and the brakes and battery were checked. So I am set for winter now. It only cost me $149. Got to love the dealer. The good thing was that I was able to see her getting her checkup so it looked like they did everything right. She also got a car wash. That's about all!

10000!!!

Well today was the big day. I drove up to see Michelle and on the way home, my baby hit the 10,000 mile marker. It was around 10:40pm so I am not sure what the other cars on the highway thought I was doing. I wasn't sure how they would turn out so I took a lot.

This is a picture of the pretty colors when I sat on the highway for close to 40 minutes to go five miles. I HATE CONSTRUCTION!!!

This is a picture of one more mile!

And Finally...

The pictures aren't wonderful but at least I have something!

ALMOST...

Well, this weekend will be it! The big 10,000 mark. I am sure I will hit it on the way up to Milwaukee this weekend. How very exciting! I'll keep you posted.

9500

No picture for this one because my camera is still hooked up to the computer but I hit the 9500 marker today. I was on my way to Bess Hardware to get hooks for the garage to put up the camping chairs and table. It's took me a little over a month to put on 500 miles. So I guess I won't need another oil change for another month. Got to enjoy saving money!

Nothing

Well nothing exciting has happened yet with the car. I am still under 9,500 miles. It seems since I started school, I haven't been driving much. I will probably hit the 9,500 marker tomorrow when I have to drive to Riverwoods to babysit. I think I should get out more often but Netflix and 24 is making me want to stay home and be a couch potato! Luckily my mom and I will be sitting down tonight to watch the fourth disc of season one so we can move on. I am hoping the turn around time will be less than a week. We'll see. I am off to cut the grass.

Happy Belated Birthday!

So she turned a year on the 17th of this month and I was a bad mom because I totally forgot! I thought it was the 19th but when I looked back, I noticed it was the 17th, not that I was planning anything for the 19th. So today, I went to visit Sandi and Edison and on the way back, I filled her up. She got 10 gallons and I had to pay $33.01. She was a hungry baby. Then I decided to be nice and go get her a nice car wash, inside and out, so $17 plus $2 tip, she is looking pretty. So if I was really obsessed, I would send out birthday cards, but I'm not! :) But here are some pictures.
I thought this was cool with the door open.
I think if you look at this picture closely, you can see one of her boo-boos! :(
Since I took a picture of the other side, I thought, I should get one of this side too!
I just thought this was a good picture.

new windshield

So my brother called this morning when I was going to go work out and told me that I should have reported this incident to the police and that I should do that then. I went to the new police station and sat there for about 40 minutes for them to tell me there wasn't anything they could do either. I guess I could have lied and said that the rock came out of the truck but you know me, I have a real hard time with lying. I came home to call around to get prices on a windshield. I finally went with Aaron's Auto Glass. www.aaronglass.com She had asked me when a good time would be for me. I was like anytime today before 3:45. She told me that they would be out before 2pm. I was kind of shocked. I thought it would not have been until tomorrow at least. They came at 12:30 and were gone by 1. It was safe to drive but I have to drive with tape on the top for 24 hours. Again, I will try to get pictures posted soon.

So needlessto say, I have a new windshield. It kept going through my head today the what ifs and I have to stop. I paid for the new windshield and I can only hope that it doesn't happen again and be thankful that I wasn't hurt.
The car with the tape still on it.
The car just like brand new. Notice the green trim at the top. Didn't have that on the other windshield. I am not sure if that's good or bad. Who knows!

big boo boo :(

So today, I met Kelsey for lunch at Sweet Tomato. We met around 1 because she works the night shift. We sat and talked for awhile and then when I was heading home, a huge rock hit my windshield. I thought to myself, wow, that really seemed to hit it good but nothing happened. I proceeded on and then noticed there was a spiderweb forming in the lower left hand corner and it was spreading already. I followed the truck that was next to me and got all the information. It seemed like the type of truck to carry big rocks. I did get him to roll down his window. I got the company's name and number. I went home and talked to them. Since the guy's truck was empty, there wasn't anything that could be done. I went to Hillerichs to see if there was anything they could do to stop the spreading and they said it was to late already. They priced out a new windshield for me but I am going to call around tomorrow to see if I can get a better price.

I was a total mess about it because she isn't even a year yet and I have to get a new windshield. Luckily, nothing else happened and I wasn't hurt but I was just a mess about thinking about paying for a new windshield when the car isn't even paid off yet. I will have pictures later if they turn out.

9000 mile mark and deer

So yesterday was the big day! I was going to Mike and Sara's for babysitting in Riverwoods. I left home and had 8995 miles. I got to about Sanders and Walters when my car hit the big 9-0-0-0 mark. I took the pictures and drove the rest of the way to Mike and Sara's. When on Saunders, I saw a deer about ten feet from my car. I stopped and took pictures. She looked a little out of place with the Jeep and the house in the backround. I took two pictures. The first one is a close up of the doe and the second one shows just how close she was to the street. I took that one normal. It's kind of scary how close she was. Then after Mike and Sara got home, I was driving back down Saunders and I think I saw the same doe. I didn't take pictures this time because it was late and I wanted to get home. She was in a different place but really close to the street. I had my brights on and saw her before she did anything. I drove by cautiously but she didn't move. Then about one mile down the road, I saw a skunk. It was animal night. I guess that's what happens when you are driving at 12:40 at night.

Pat and Ron

So we left Door County this morning around 11. Stopped a couple of times at shops but then drove to Belguim Wisconsin to visit Pat and Ron whose house is right next to Lake Michigan. When we got there, I saw that they had a jet ski. I didn't want to go on it at first because I hurt my side yesterday but finally, I thought, what the hell, I haven't done it before. I got my swimming suit on and Gary gave me a ride. It was so bumpy and we went pretty fast. It was so much fun but when we got back in, the waves were very strong so I didn't want to test it out by myself. Next time though! I got a little burnt but not bad. No pictures of me on the jet ski though because me and pictures along with swimming suits don't go together!

We left their house around 7 and got home around 9. It was a busy weekend, but great. I got a lot of relaxing done and totally left all the stress back here. Now, I am hoping it will stay away for awhile. Hope everyone else enjoyed their weekends!

Beautiful!!!

I know that this is supposed to be "all about my civic" but since she is here with us, I figured I could write about the trip! So last night my mom and I decided to watch the sunset. It set at 8:33. We went by the Sister Bay Marina. The pictures won't do it justice, but you can see just how beautiful it was. I wish I could see this all the time. Here are some pictures to enjoy!

8000 mile mark

Well, I hit the 8000 mile mark yesterday on our way back from getting my favorite cherries (which I am actually eating right now!) I almost forgot to take the picture. Got back to the hotel and it hit 8001 so I was able to get the 8000 picture but I was only going 25 miles per hour. Oh well.

Vacation has been going wonderfully. We have been busy but relaxing too. We went to see a play last night that lasted 3 hours! It wasn't really that great. Then today, we have been running around. I have been getting a lot of Christmas shopping done which is really great. So if you read this before I leave, let me know what you want! :) Tonight, we are going to a fish boil and then hopefully get back for the sunset which we missed yesterday because of the play. We were waiting for it but it didn't set completely before we had to go into the play area. I have pictures, which again will be posted when I get back. I brought my cable but I don't feel like trying to upload them today.

I am not able to get online all the time but I am sitting out on our little porch and I am able to pick up the Sister Bay Marina assess. It's nice but can't plug the computer into anything so it's running on complete battery!

Well, I think that is going to do it for me today. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Road Trip

I really enjoy taking road trips but this is the first one my baby has to go on. Her miles are going to go up. I think I am around 7760 right now. I am wondering what the mileage will be when I get back. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend though. Have a fantastic weekend and look for posts about the car on Sunday or Monday.

This is where we are staying. Looks like it will be great. We got the waterfront room.

This is where we are going.

Cap Alert

Here is the new thing I got for my car. It's just something so I don't have to do as much work to make sure my tires have all the air in them. Susie's dad had them for her car so I thought it would be a great idea to get them for mine. The guy at Napa was really helpful and he checked and found out I only need 30 psi in my tires. Pretty easy. I love things that make my job easier! :) Posted by Picasa

Too many miles!

My miles are going up. I just hit 7600 today. I took a picture of this mile stone but don't feel like uploading it right now, seeing that it's 1am. In a week, I'll be up in Door County with my baby. I think I might break the 10,000 mark for the year anniversary. Shall we take a bet? Anyone?

Here is the picture. I got around to uploading them last night. (Today is 7/10/06)
I was on my way home from Brian's after dinner, mini golfing, and a movie with Brian, Chris and Susie.

7000 mile mark

On Friday I reached 7000 miles. I was on my way up north for a non-fun event (Landon's funeral - see my daily news for more information). 94 was like a parking lot because a lot of people were going up to Summerfest. I got a pictures of the odometer when I was actually going 70 miles per hour. Pretty neat! I left around 2:30 and got up to the funeral at 4:45. After, went to Michelle's for some dinner. I left Wisconsin at 8:30. Then on Saturday, I went up to Wisconsin again, this time to Madison. I put over 500 miles in two days on my car.

Here is another one when I was going almost 80 mph. I figure it might take the place of my next mileage point.

6789 mile mark

So yesterday (June 22nd, 2006)I hit the big 6789 miles on the civic. How very exciting. I went to Ballys and looked down at the odometer and noticed that I was very close to it and didn't have my camera on me. I was able to get home after working out and when I went to get my haircut, it turned to 6789 on Milwaukee Ave. So here's the picture. And now, I am caught up with the pictures. So the next one will be 7000 which will probably come next weekend when I go see Angie and Andy in Madison. Posted by Picasa

Here is when I was driving down Milwaukee. Thank goodness for speed limits of 40mph!

6666 mile mark

So I was babysitting on June 16th, 2006 when the odometer hit 6666. I thought it would make a good picture! Posted by Picasa

6000 mile mark

On May 21, 2006, I hit the big 6000 mile mark. I was on my way home from a Brewers game with Brian in the car. He actually took this picture as you can see I was going about 62 miles per hour on 94. My mom still hasn't figured out what the big deal of taking the pictures of the odometer is but I think it's cool to have a record of my mileage and when I hit certain milestones.

5678 mile mark

So on May 7, 2006, I hit 5678 on the odomoter. Brian actually ended up taking this picture because my mom was in the car at the time. I was going almost 50 mph at this point. How exciting! Posted by Picasa

5000 mile mark

So I actually remember where I was and who I was with this time. I was on my way to Sam's Club with my mom. We were using my car a lot because her car was in the garage waiting to be repaired from her accident. She didn't like the idea of me driving and taking the picture at the same time so I had to pull over to take this picture. This took place April 14, 2006. I was also able to get my first oil change. I took it to Muellers and waited after school to get it back. They fixed my front license plate and I got a free oil change. I don't have to go back until 10,000 miles now.

4000 mile mark

On March 7, 2006, I hit 4000. I didn't take as many pictures of this so this one is a little blurry. Again, I don't quite remember what I was doing when I hit the 4000 mile mark but I knew I only have 1000 more miles until my first oil change.

3000 mile mark

Here is the 3000 mile marker. This took place on January 4, 2006. I don't remember where I was when I hit 3000 though. I was just happy to get the picture. I don't think anyone was in the car to give me a hard time about taking the picture! :)

Then I thought it would be cool to get a picture of driving 30mph with the odometer having 3000 on it. I don't know if I should keep this as something I do because then at 10000 miles, I should be driving 100 mph. Don't think that's going to happen. :)

San Francisco

Can you tell why I fell in love with San Francisco last year. This is a picture from Oakland. The skyline is San Francisco. I want to go back so bad. Posted by Picasa
