Happy Belated Birthday!

So she turned a year on the 17th of this month and I was a bad mom because I totally forgot! I thought it was the 19th but when I looked back, I noticed it was the 17th, not that I was planning anything for the 19th. So today, I went to visit Sandi and Edison and on the way back, I filled her up. She got 10 gallons and I had to pay $33.01. She was a hungry baby. Then I decided to be nice and go get her a nice car wash, inside and out, so $17 plus $2 tip, she is looking pretty. So if I was really obsessed, I would send out birthday cards, but I'm not! :) But here are some pictures.
I thought this was cool with the door open.
I think if you look at this picture closely, you can see one of her boo-boos! :(
Since I took a picture of the other side, I thought, I should get one of this side too!
I just thought this was a good picture.

new windshield

So my brother called this morning when I was going to go work out and told me that I should have reported this incident to the police and that I should do that then. I went to the new police station and sat there for about 40 minutes for them to tell me there wasn't anything they could do either. I guess I could have lied and said that the rock came out of the truck but you know me, I have a real hard time with lying. I came home to call around to get prices on a windshield. I finally went with Aaron's Auto Glass. www.aaronglass.com She had asked me when a good time would be for me. I was like anytime today before 3:45. She told me that they would be out before 2pm. I was kind of shocked. I thought it would not have been until tomorrow at least. They came at 12:30 and were gone by 1. It was safe to drive but I have to drive with tape on the top for 24 hours. Again, I will try to get pictures posted soon.

So needlessto say, I have a new windshield. It kept going through my head today the what ifs and I have to stop. I paid for the new windshield and I can only hope that it doesn't happen again and be thankful that I wasn't hurt.
The car with the tape still on it.
The car just like brand new. Notice the green trim at the top. Didn't have that on the other windshield. I am not sure if that's good or bad. Who knows!

big boo boo :(

So today, I met Kelsey for lunch at Sweet Tomato. We met around 1 because she works the night shift. We sat and talked for awhile and then when I was heading home, a huge rock hit my windshield. I thought to myself, wow, that really seemed to hit it good but nothing happened. I proceeded on and then noticed there was a spiderweb forming in the lower left hand corner and it was spreading already. I followed the truck that was next to me and got all the information. It seemed like the type of truck to carry big rocks. I did get him to roll down his window. I got the company's name and number. I went home and talked to them. Since the guy's truck was empty, there wasn't anything that could be done. I went to Hillerichs to see if there was anything they could do to stop the spreading and they said it was to late already. They priced out a new windshield for me but I am going to call around tomorrow to see if I can get a better price.

I was a total mess about it because she isn't even a year yet and I have to get a new windshield. Luckily, nothing else happened and I wasn't hurt but I was just a mess about thinking about paying for a new windshield when the car isn't even paid off yet. I will have pictures later if they turn out.

9000 mile mark and deer

So yesterday was the big day! I was going to Mike and Sara's for babysitting in Riverwoods. I left home and had 8995 miles. I got to about Sanders and Walters when my car hit the big 9-0-0-0 mark. I took the pictures and drove the rest of the way to Mike and Sara's. When on Saunders, I saw a deer about ten feet from my car. I stopped and took pictures. She looked a little out of place with the Jeep and the house in the backround. I took two pictures. The first one is a close up of the doe and the second one shows just how close she was to the street. I took that one normal. It's kind of scary how close she was. Then after Mike and Sara got home, I was driving back down Saunders and I think I saw the same doe. I didn't take pictures this time because it was late and I wanted to get home. She was in a different place but really close to the street. I had my brights on and saw her before she did anything. I drove by cautiously but she didn't move. Then about one mile down the road, I saw a skunk. It was animal night. I guess that's what happens when you are driving at 12:40 at night.
